COLLEGE DEGREE
The Associate of Applied Science Degree, or the Apprentice Credit Option Program, is an opportunity for Local 36 members, employees, apprentices and journeypersons to access a program that recognizes pre-existing skills and abilities. Credit is awarded for quality skill training gained outside the realm of traditional community college education.
The program recognizes the core curriculum of the SMART Apprentice Training Program, approved by the Bureau of Aprenticeship Standards (a division of the Department of Labor) and allows journeyperson status to be transferred to a community college to satisfy a portion of the credits needed for an associate degree.
The follow community colleges off the Associate of Skilles Trades Applied Science degree in partnership with Local 36. Each college requires additional general education couses to be taken through their campus.
